The wall installation Foundation, Weight and Equalizer, and paintings Fossils, Philosophy, Phonography and Modern Erosion, Reverb, and Sustain, take aphonic sound as their device of departure. After intense concentration on a collection of rocks taken from various locations in Wales, Hawaii, and New Mexico I came to the conclusion that rocks are tongue-tied and under the correct circumstances I could hear them humming.
